Overview
Adjunct Faculty Pool – Astronomy. Position Code: FLSA Exempt;
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The role is part‑time, faculty, appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis. Teaching is primarily face‑to‑face, with possibilities for remote instruction.
- Teach developmental and/or college‑level courses in astronomy, including distance‑learning courses during day, evening, and weekend hours.
- Deliver courses at various PVCC locations, including the Giuseppe Center and selected campus sites.
- Provide remote instruction as needed and collaborate with faculty on course design.
- Perform other duties as assigned, and assist the agency or state government during emergency declarations by the Governor.
- Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Astronomy.
- Ph.D. in Astronomy (preferred).
- Two years of teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with online teaching.
- Expert skills, knowledge, and experience in the subject area.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The position may include travel to any college campus or site location as assigned. No supervision of employees and no required travel beyond campus assignments. No reporting of State Vehicle operation.
