Student Success Coach – Online Services and Educational Outreach (CS26-252)
Location: Edwardsville, IL
Salary: $40,000 annually
Job Type: Full Time
The role builds on a foundation of achievement and contributes to the university’s ambitious goals. The Student Success Coach will support online students by developing and delivering programs, communications, and resources that promote academic and personal success.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver programming, communications, and initiatives that promote academic and personal success for online student populations.
- Design and implement outreach and communication strategies to reengage out-of-touch or at-risk online students.
- Monitor online student progress and engagement through systems like Blackboard and Starfish, creating reports and identifying trends.
- Provide individualized support and mentoring to help students define and achieve educational and career goals.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to advocate for and enhance student success and well‑being.
- Maintain accurate student records, confidentiality, and current knowledge of campus services to provide one‑stop student support.
- Participate in professional development and contribute data, reports, and recommendations to improve student success initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong organization, tracking, data collection, time management and follow‑up skills.
- Exceptional and engaging communication skills using multiple modalities.
- Ability to build relationships, work independently and provide good judgment.
- Ability to take initiative, pay careful attention to details and maintain confidentiality.
- Master’s Degree.
- Two or more years of experience developing and identifying support resources to encourage student engagement, retention, and persistence.
- Two or more years of experience providing support in a virtual capacity.
- Two or more years of experience developing support programs and resources that are transferable to a virtual environment.
- Two or more years of experience using various contact methods including chat or text.
- Experience serving online and adult student populations.
