West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Philosophy Faculty member. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences invites applications for a visiting assistant professor of philosophy for the  academic year. AOS: open. AOC: ethics, social and political philosophy. The successful candidate will teach general education courses in philosophy (introduction to philosophy, introduction to ethics, logic and critical thinking) plus upper-level courses in bioethics and philosophy of law/social/political.

The position has a 4/4 teaching load. Engagement with the department and university are encouraged, but the position has no service or scholarship requirements. Experience with online education is desirable, as there is opportunity for some online teaching.

• Required:
  
  a master's degree in Philosophy
• Preferred:
  PhD in Philosophy with a demonstrated record of teaching experience.

Anticipated Faculty Appointment Date:

A faculty member is expected to participate in continuous improvement in the areas of teaching, professional development, and service to the University and community. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

For the academic year employees, their dependents, and spouses are eligible for a 100% waiver for undergraduate tuition and only employees are eligible for a 50% waiver for graduate tuition for certain programs.
