PSE PARAMBS A

Position Summary: This Meadowbrook School Para will have a range of duties Monday-Thursday supporting both Elementary In-person Students on Tuesday and Thursday, supervising recess and lunch and supporting students in their classrooms, and Secondary online students on Monday and Wednesday with data entry, one on one support and supporting online teachers. WA State Para educator requirements:

  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent,
In addition, a para educator must also meet one of the following:
  • Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Para educator Board ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).);
    OR
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.;
    OR
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university;
    OR
  • Have completed an apprenticeship as a para educator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.

  • Upon hire, successful candidate must provide:
  • Acopy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
  • Official post secondary transcript(s).

      This position is eligible for up to 13 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on employee's start and end dates.
    • Paid Time Off

      Employees working 12 months per year earn 12 days of paid vacation per school year. Employees working 237 - 260 days per school year earn 12 days of sick leave. Up to 3 days of personal leave may be granted each school year. Vacation, sick leave, and personal leave are based on scheduled hours and position start date.

    Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
