Position RequirementsTeachers must love children and be willing to learn and grow in your position. You must meet the qualifications of “teacher” as specified by state regulations. You must have taught as a lead teacher in another daycare (home based or center) to be considered.
Enrollment in the Oregon C and all required training must be current.
Lead Teacher Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.
- Communicate warmly, effectively, and frequently with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Spend time observing the children's interests to create stimulating, age appropriate Emergent Curriculum.
- Be familiar with, but continually learning about, children’s learning development- cognitive, social /emotional, communication and physical development.
- Guide teachers assistants in effectively helping in the classroom
- Be familiar with PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies/ Supports).
- Maintain a general classroom schedule, while being flexible and sensitive to changes in the classroom.
- Be knowledgeable about general principles and best practices of early childhood education.
- Familiarity with Emergent Curriculum model a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be abe to work scheduled hours.
