Job Summary

The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting and onboarding prospective students for designated academic programs at Bushnell University. This position serves as a primary point of contact throughout the admissions process, providing guidance on program offerings, admissions requirements, financial aid, and enrollment procedures. The Admissions Counselor reviews application materials, evaluates applicant qualifications, makes admissions recommendations, and collaborates closely with academic advising and other university departments to support a seamless transition from inquiry to enrollment.

Success in this role is measured by the achievement of enrollment goals, quality student engagement, and the ability to support prospective students through a positive and efficient admissions experience.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the enrollment and onboarding process for designated academic programs, including the Online MBA, Master of Arts in Leadership, Master of Arts in Sports Management, and Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) programs.
  • Represent the university at college fairs, recruitment events, and community outreach activities to promote graduate and professional programs.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to manage prospective student inquiries, applications, admissions decisions, and enrollment deposits while maintaining accurate and timely communication records.
  • Review completed applications to ensure applicants meet admissions requirements and institutional standards.
  • Provide guidance to prospective students regarding transfer credit evaluations and program eligibility as applicable.
  • Communicate with prospective students via phone, email, and other channels to provide information related to admissions requirements, financial aid, academic programs, and enrollment procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between prospective students and university departments including Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, Registrar, Business Office, Information Technology, and other campus offices as needed.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update records, reports, and documentation related to admissions and recruitment activities.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of admissions, recruitment, and onboarding events.
  • Operate standard office equipment and technology systems to support daily admissions operations and student services.
Experience and Qualification Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and experience in academic advising, transcript evaluation, a registrar’s office, an admissions office or in a university setting (preferably in an adult degree, online, or graduate program environment).

  • The position may require lifting up to 25 lbs, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling for the purposes of event set up and organization.
  • The position will require some evening and weekend hours.
