Work Arrangement: This is a full-time REMOTE position. Typical schedule is 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school, with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities Instructional
  • Take ownership for student academic progress and attendance, communicate high expectations, and support student achievement.
  • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
  • Conduct live Synchronous Teaching – minimum of 15 hours per week.
  • Asynchronously support objectives (emails, planning, learning plans, data-driven adjustments).
  • Collaborate with others on instruction, resources, interventions, and data related to OHVA students’ needs and teacher development.
  • Augment course content under guidance of the administrative team using asynchronous and synchronous tools.
  • Submit grades and required student work with integrity; maintain grade book.
  • Make placement and promotion decisions by generating reports and notifying administrators of concerns.
Relationship Building
  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families; regularly communicate with students and learning coaches/parents.
  • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues in a virtual environment.
  • Assist with basic computer questions as needed; understand diverse family needs to tailor support.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure student progress and clear points of contact for parents.
  • Respond to students, parents, and colleagues in a timely manner.
Other Essential Functions
  • Organize social and educational activities for students and families (virtual clubs, events).
  • Proctor state exams at testing sites as needed.
  • Comply with school policies and procedures, including Employee Manual and applicable laws.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Six (6) months of student teaching experience
  • Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in subject area under No Child Left Behind (NCLB)

  • Ability to pass required background check
