Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, and Real Estate courses, including online instruction.
  • Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Business department.
  • Maintain subject‑matter currency.
  • Develop and revise curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
  • Use computer and multimedia technology to enhance learning.
  • Engage collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience.
  • OR Associate's degree and six years of professional experience.
  • OR Possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Small Business Development, Entrepreneurship, Restaurant Management, or Real Estate at the California Community College level.
  • OR Equivalent experience and credentials; candidates should submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form with supporting documents.
  • AND A demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an innovative teaching environment.
  • Work effectively with students with a wide range of motivations and goals.
  • Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
  • Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain subject‑matter currency.
  • Assess student learning outcomes.
  • Possess knowledge of computers and a willingness to explore new technologies.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the California community college mission.
