Job Description Content Teacher – Candidate PoolAt Sheridan All Prep Academy, we believe education should meet students where they are - academically, socially, and emotionally. Our model blends flexibility, family partnership, and personalized learning to support the whole child.
We are building a candidate pool for future Content Teacher openings and invite educators who are passionate about delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in a flexible, student-centered environment.
About the RoleThe Content Teacher is responsible for delivering standards-aligned instruction in a virtual learning environment. This role focuses on teaching core academic content, engaging students in meaningful learning experiences, and supporting academic growth across a range of grade levels.
Content Teachers design and deliver instruction, assess student progress, and collaborate with families and staff to ensure students are supported and successful in a remote or hybrid setting.
What You’ll Do- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in your content area
- Teach the skills, knowledge, and processes aligned to course standards
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback and assessment
- Communicate regularly with students and families through virtual platforms
- Support students in building independence, engagement, and academic confidence
- Maintain accurate records, including grades, progress reports, and required documentation
- Identify student needs and collaborate with staff to provide appropriate supports Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development
- Ensure student safety, well-being, and compliance with school policies
- A student-centered educator who thrives in a virtual or hybrid environment
- Strong instructional skills and the ability to engage learners remotely
- Clear, consistent communication with students, families, and colleagues
- Comfort with flexibility, innovation, and adapting instruction to student needs
- Confidence using technology to support teaching and learning
- A commitment to student success and continuous improvement
- Valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement
- Bachelor’s degree (required);
Master’s degree preferred - Highly qualified in the content area taught
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and developmentally appropriate practices
- Reliable transportation for required in-person meetings and visits
- Ability to work both remotely and independently
This role is primarily remote and includes:
- Daily computer-based instruction and communication
- Virtual interaction with students, families, and staff
- Occasional in-person responsibilities as needed
