Position: Educational Consultant - Per Diem - West Virginia (Statewide)

Position Overview

We are seeking a temporary, part‑time Professional Learning Educational Consultant (ELA or Reading) with experience teaching ELA or Reading, coaching teachers, delivering professional development, and analyzing data. This is a per‑dime, non‑remote position based in West Virginia, supporting districts throughout New England, PA, and WV. Candidates must be willing to travel up to 80% of the time, maintain their own transportation, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate high‑quality professional development, training, and support for teachers and school leaders.
  • Analyze instructional data and communicate consultatively with educators and leaders.
  • Coordinate on‑site product training and professional learning courses for teachers and administrators.
  • Adjust professional learning workshops to fit participant needs within specified parameters.
  • Help ensure equity in the classroom by delivering learning courses on how to effectively implement Ready and i‑Ready to impact classroom learning.
  • Provide tailored on‑site support, including lesson planning, pacing support, data analysis, and identification of implementation successes.
  • Engage in the internal cycle of professional improvement and development (observations, feedback, coaching).
  • Track and submit detailed training notes and complete all assignments promptly.
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers and prospects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2+ years of experience teaching ELA or Reading, coaching teachers of ELA or Reading, and providing professional development.
  • Master’s degree in ELA or Reading preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards for ELA or Reading for Grades K–8.
  • Fluency with digital tools, including online assessments, and comfort discussing and applying data.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles to achieve learning objectives.
  • Excellent facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional time‑management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Computer skills, including Office programs and online meeting platforms such as Zoom or Web Ex.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an educational cohort.
Compensation and Benefits

Competitive hourly rate starting at $65 per hour, plus additional compensation for preparation, co‑facilitation, meetings, and travel. Company‑provided laptop, mileage reimbursement, and ability to keep travel points for flights and hotels booked for work‑related travel.

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays at hotels and transportation via car, plane, or public transit. Out‑of‑state travel may be required based on business demand.
