Nevada (Elko) (Gap Year Residence) Seeking a Nanny / Teacher-Tutor

Position: Full-Time Live-In Nanny / Teacher-Tutor
Schedule: Flexible; generally 9:00 AM-5:00 PM in the summer and 10:00 AM-6:00 PM or 11:00 AM-7:00 PM during the school year, with occasional adjustments
Salary: $1,200-$1,600 per week, depending on experience- approx- $30-$40 per hour
Start Date: July 2026 (through July 2027)
Relocation: Yes - open to nationwide search
About the Family

A warm, grounded, and hands-on family will be spending a gap year living on their ranch in Nevada and is seeking a professional yet relaxed Nanny / Teacher-Tutor to join them. The family values independence, a love of the outdoors, and someone who can seamlessly blend into their lifestyle while maintaining professionalism.

Children: Three children - a boy entering 1st grade (full-time school), a 4-year-old boy in Pre-K (part-time), and a 2-year-old girl in preschool (part-time)
Home Environment: Ranch setting with a separate private 2-bedroom staff house located near the main home (approximately 2 miles from the main road; rustic setting)
Pets: Two friendly medium-sized Labrador Retrievers
Household Style: Parents work from home and are very involved; children are well-behaved and respond well to structure and consistency
Responsibilities

• Support and enhance the children's education through engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
• Reinforce early childhood development, particularly for the younger two children
• Assist with school routines and provide supplemental educational support for the 1st grader as needed
• Plan creative, outdoor-based activities aligned with the ranch lifestyle
• Travel domestically with the family as needed
• Supervise children as required (note: it is rare to have all three children at once)
• Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
• Support light child-related organization as needed

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood professional who is confident, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about education. They should be outdoorsy, independent, and comfortable in a more remote, rustic environment. This person will be self-sufficient-able to cook for themselves and enjoy personal downtime when the family is together.

A calm, structured approach is important, as the children thrive with clear boundaries and consistency. The family is seeking someone who is professional yet easygoing, and who can integrate naturally into their dynamic without being overly formal.
Requirements

• Prior experience as a nanny, teacher, or tutor in a private home or educational setting
• Strong background in early childhood education
• Excellent references
• Legal to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (car provided)
• Comfortable with dogs
• Must know how to swim or be willing to take lessons (pool on property)
• Willingness to travel domestically
• Comfortable living in a rural/ranch environment
• Self-sufficient and independent personality
