Job SummaryFaculty and instructors are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, vision, and values of the university. The College of Education and Human Services at Lindenwood University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Social Work. Qualified applicants will possess a doctorate in social work with specialization in CSWE-accredited programs. The successful candidate will be expected to teach 12 credit hours of Social Work and Field Supervision each semester and advise/mentor students.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online.
- Design and deliver 12 credit hours of Social Work and Field Supervision courses each semester.
- Advise, mentor, and guide students through academic and career development.
- Engage community partners for field placements and supervised practice.
- Participate in faculty governance and campus life.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
- Doctorate in social work or related field (strongly preferred).
- At least 2 years of field experience in social work.
- Experience in field education, supervision, and applied practice.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including diplomacy and conflict resolution.
- Analytical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Canvas LMS, and other academic software.
- On-campus presence required for all full-time faculty positions.
- Faculty may conduct online instruction with flexible, remote work for specific circumstances.
- Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods.
- Ability to meet on-campus instructional demands.
