Position: Adjunct Faculty POOL- Mathematics at Clarkston (2025-2026 Academic Year)

Job Title

Mathematics Instructor (Adjunct)

Location

Clarkston, WA (part‑time assignment contingent on enrollment)

Responsibilities

Faculty members at WWCC are professional educators committed to providing students with access to relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching assigned classes at scheduled times and locations.
  • Demonstrating professional teaching skills.
  • Providing a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter.
  • Delivering clear explanations, assignments, and directions.
  • Conducting frequent student performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback.
  • Assigning and submitting grades in accordance with the college grading policy.
  • Maintaining student records and grades in the college’s LMS.
  • Offering a minimum of one (1) office hour per week that is reasonably accessible to students.
  • Maintaining course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum.
  • Reviewing and recommending program textbooks, materials, and technology.
  • Utilizing available technology appropriate to each assignment.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics (or closely related credentialing may substitute at the discretion of the college).
  • Demonstrated proficiency teaching at the college level (minimum two years); experience as a teaching assistant or adjunct instructor may count toward the requirement.
  • For remote work applicants must reside in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree in Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching at a community college.
  • Experience using instructional technology to support student learning, including LMSs, digital whiteboards, and Zoom.
  • Experience teaching in in‑person, hybrid, blended, and online modalities.
  • Experience working with and relating to persons from varied cultural, ethnic, gender, age, socioeconomic, and educational backgrounds.
Conditions and Terms of Employment

This is a part‑time instruction assignment contingent on enrollment. Candidates must provide acceptable documentation of lawful employment within three (3) days of employment and provide transcripts. WWCC participates in E‑Verify and may conduct a criminal history background check. The college is a tobacco‑free institution. Employees must participate in direct deposit for salary payment.

Compensation

Compensation for adjunct instruction is contingent on enrollment and paid in accordance with the contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education.
