We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Academic Advisor, Online Business Program (Student Services Professional I-Range
B). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Salary Range: $25.86 - $28.54 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday, schedule will vary according to department needs. Occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. This is a temporary part‑time position to end on or before June 30, 2027, with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.
Essential Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited four‑year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a job‑related field plus one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level.
- Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis. Equivalent amounts of job‑related graduate level education may be substituted for the required experience.
- Working knowledge of organization and program management, research and interview techniques, principles of individual and group behavior.
- Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
- Ability to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures and activities and the overall organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in liberal arts, counseling, student affairs, psychology, public administration, or a job‑related field and two years of professional experience in student services or related field. In‑progress or earned master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
- Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Knowledge of academic counseling techniques and proven ability to effectively listen, advise, counsel students.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, Dropbox, Text Expander, and Student Information Systems such as Navigate
360. - Skill in maintaining effective electronic filing systems.
