Department: The Deans Office for College of Business and Economics within the Division of Academic Affairs is committed to leading business education through the guiding principles of program quality, balancing theory and practice, and expanding our outreach and visibility. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Academic Advisor, Online Business Program (Student Services Professional I-Range

B). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to inclusivity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Salary Range: $25.86 - $28.54 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday, schedule will vary according to department needs. Occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. This is a temporary part‑time position to end on or before June 30, 2027, with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited four‑year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a job‑related field plus one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level.
  • Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis. Equivalent amounts of job‑related graduate level education may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Working knowledge of organization and program management, research and interview techniques, principles of individual and group behavior.
  • Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures and activities and the overall organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in liberal arts, counseling, student affairs, psychology, public administration, or a job‑related field and two years of professional experience in student services or related field. In‑progress or earned master’s degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Knowledge of academic counseling techniques and proven ability to effectively listen, advise, counsel students.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, Dropbox, Text Expander, and Student Information Systems such as Navigate
    360.
  • Skill in maintaining effective electronic filing systems.
