Job SummaryThe Training and Development Specialist reports to Specialist, Training & Development II (Elementary and Early Learning or Older Youth) and is responsible for developing and delivering high‑quality, impactful in‑person training sessions to program staff. The role applies comprehensive knowledge of the organization’s student outcomes and objectives, combined with adult‑learning strategies, to deliver effective training. It requires a commitment to Think Together’s values, flexibility to travel across multiple geographic areas, and collaboration with the Program Content Specialist to ensure trainings align with student outcomes and organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership- Collaborate closely with the Program Content Specialist to assess and develop program training content to meet staff needs and yield positive student experiences.
- Gather feedback and verify training through site visits from regional staff (30, 60, 90 days) to fill gaps and drive program tuning.
- Create training impact assessment criteria.
- Identify and develop role‑specific and grade‑specific coaching criteria and dosage.
- Prescribe best practices to guide facilitation success field‑wide.
- Develop scaled and scaffolded guides to program implementation.
- Maintain knowledge of adult‑learning practices and strategies.
- Create a psychologically safe environment through collaborative teamwork.
- Conduct engaging, effective in‑person training sessions aligned with adult‑learning principles.
- Assess, create, deliver, and optimize content training for specific programs and grade levels.
- Provide program‑specific training and facilitation.
- Lead program training initiatives and identify pathways for staff based on grade span and program element.
- Determine appropriate dosage and timing of coaching interventions for various staff roles.
- Recommend best practices to guide effective facilitation and program implementation.
- Own creation of program training content, project plans, pacing guides, implementation plans, and tools.
- Apply continuous‑improvement lens to training processes using feedback and observations.
- Develop and implement criteria for assessing training impact and effectiveness.
- Provide scalable, scaffolded guides to support program implementation with clear, step‑by‑step instructions.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field, or 3+ years’ experience in training and facilitation for elementary/early learning or older youth.
- Preferred: 3+ years’ experience in education/expanded learning.
- Knowledge of adult‑learning principles.
- Experience delivering training to diverse learners of varying group sizes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well‑versed in learning design, project‑based learning, curricular providers, and educational technology.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with organization policies.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, One Note) and Adobe.
- Intermediate LMS experience (Canvas, Blackboard, Collaboration).
- Adaptability to new content and technology (webinars, asynchronous learning, software, file management).
- Proficient with email, internet, websites, and social media platforms.
- Use of typical office equipment.
- Moderate office noise.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit.
- Visual attention to computer screen.
- Lift up to 10 pounds.
- Travel 70‑80% of the time.
- Salary $70,305 (range may vary by location, skills, and experience).
