Job Overview
This full‑time, remote elementary teacher will deliver the Missouri Virtual Academy (MOVA) K‑5 curriculum online, build relationships with families, students, and learning coaches, and support students’ progress through assessment data and individualized learning plans.
Responsibilities- Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students across all subjects.
- Personalize learning, differentiate instruction based on mastery levels, and augment course content per school policies.
- Maintain grade books, monitor student academic integrity, and make placement and promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests and maintain accurate assessment records.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families, communicating regularly and responding promptly to students and coaches.
- Support learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic troubleshooting in the virtual classroom.
- Travel as required (approximately once per month and/or 20% of the time) for professional development, testing, and school functions.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active Missouri elementary teaching license (or equivalent license with ability to obtain MO certification within 60 days).
- 0–1 year of related professional experience.
- Clearance of all required background checks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently from a professional home office.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to student success.
- Experience teaching students in the K‑5 age group.
- Experience supporting both adults and children in technology‑enhanced learning environments.
- Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in traditional classroom settings.
- Experience with online learning platforms and data‑driven instructional decisions.
- Openness to regular coaching, adaptability, and continuous professional growth.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and teaching platforms.
Salary range: $48,752–$60,940 per year (non‑guaranteed, variable by factors such as location and experience).
