JobOverview
The adjunct faculty member supplements the regular faculty of DIU by providing educational leadership and student instruction in the area of their expertise (Linguistics or Translation or related field). The Adjunct Faculty is appointed by the Dean of Academic Affairs and responsible to the Applied Linguistics Chair.
Responsibilities ii- Teach courses in accordance with the descriptions published in the Catalog, upholding the academic standards of DIU.
- Provide academic guidance to students in the courses for which they are responsible.
- Set performance standards for the courses for which they are responsible and supervise assistants reporting to them.
- Participate in department meetings as requested or required.
Qualifications
- Ability to teach creatively and effectively.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal professionally, effectively, and courteously with students, staff, administration, and the public.
- Proficient in written and spoken Indonesian and English, and able to communicate effectively.
- Doctorate degree in the discipline in which they teach (Linguistics or Translation or related field).
- Committed to globally focused education that integrates soft skills and Christian values.
- Committed to the academic community and to academic excellence.
- Committed to the academic, spiritual, and physical welfare of the students.
- Committed to continued personal and professional development.
Part-time, 10–30 hours, depending on number of courses and scheduled class time. Some office hours are required.
Physical RequirementsGood physical health is required, and moderate physical effort may be required.
i A seconded member is a paid employee from another institution who is loaned to DIU through a partnership agreement.
