Job Overview

A remote High School CTE Business Teacher position for Arkansas Virtual Academy (ARVA). The role requires a state‑certified teacher or CRE/CTE teacher to deliver specific course content in an online environment. The position is full‑time, starting the 2026/2027 school year, and ideally held by Arkansas residents working independently in a professional home office.

Essential Functions
  • Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
  • Personalizes learning for all students and demonstrates a belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
  • Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery.
  • Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach.
  • Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity, makes student placement and promotion decisions, and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance and progress.
  • Prepares students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
  • Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families, regularly communicates with and responds to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner.
  • Supports learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues, and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment in line with academy policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and effectively applies knowledge of the State, National, and Industry Specific learning standards.
  • Develops effective instructional tools and strategies to supplement and enhance provided curriculum.
  • Collaborates regularly with the school and national professional learning community.
  • Administers and proctors certification assessments where applicable.
  • Serves as an advisor for Career & Technical Student Organization.
  • Supports the CTE program coordinator/school/program with creating business and industry partnerships to help navigate work‑based learning experiences for students.
  • Supports a project‑based learning model.
  • Travels up to 20% of the time for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.
Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Active state teaching license.
  • Ability to clear a required background check.
Other

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions.
  • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers.
  • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
  • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with the proposed age group.
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
  • Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick‑and‑mortar environment.
  • Experience with online learning platforms.
Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $45,000–$50,000, depending on factors such as education, experience, market conditions, and travel requirements. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. The salary is not guaranteed and can vary based on several factors. Employees may elect from a benefits package; specific benefits are described in the employee benefits guide.
