About the Position

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engages in an active commitment to, and experiences personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end.

They strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and, insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.

Responsibilities
  • Model a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview.
  • Teach courses as assigned and take advantage of teaching moments and opportunities using weekly announcements and emails.
  • Carry out various administrative tasks as dictated by the Instructional Mentor, Faculty Support Coordinator, Online Chairs, and other department administrators (e.g., roster verification, reporting items, timely submission of final grades).
  • Teach material from approved curriculum in accordance with the assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction.
  • Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to students.
  • Participate in school retention initiatives by maintaining productive contact with students and aiding absent students.
  • Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behaviors.
  • Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with university policies.
  • Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
  • Terminal degree in Accounting or a related field is required for graduate‑level teaching.
  • Additional related fields considered:
    Accountancy, Accounting Information Systems, Auditing, Taxation, Financial Reporting, Forensic Accounting.
