Location: Baskerville

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the building principal, the School-Based Interventionist is responsible for identifying and supporting the social, emotional, academic, and

behavioral success of at-risk students.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with school staff, families, and outside agencies to identify at-risk students with behavior, academic, attendance, and emotional needs.

* Assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting behavioral data to inform interventions

and support strategies.

* Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) in

coordination with school staff and parents.

* Provide consultation and coaching for teachers on classroom management strategies,

behavioral supports, and student engagement techniques.

* Lead and support professional development efforts focused on social-emotional learning
* (SEL), trauma-informed practices, positive behavior supports, and restorative strategies.,

* Serve as a liaison for students returning to school from alternative placements (e.g.,

homebound, home-based, Phoenix Academy, etc.), ensuring appropriate support and

Reintegration plans are in place.

* Provide targeted support for court-involved students, collaborating with external

agencies and maintaining communication with probation officers or case managers as

needed.

* Support crisis intervention efforts and provide de-escalation assistance when needed.

* Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, progress, and communications

related to student behavior and support services.

* Promote a safe and inclusive school environment that supports the well-being and

academic success of all students.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, counseling, or related field

(Master's preferred).

* Eligible for or fully licensed to teach in Virginia.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Experience working with high school students in an educational or mental health

setting.

* Knowledge of positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), restorative practices,

trauma-informed care, and social-emotional learning frameworks.

* Strong skills in collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and data analysis.

* Experience working with students involved in the juvenile justice system and/or returning

from alternative placements is preferred.

* Familiarity with outside resources for counseling (i.e. Southside Behavioral Health).

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with compassion and

Professionalism.

FLSA:
Exempt

Contract Days: 10 Months (same as teachers)
