MPH Online - Section Instructor

Position: Section Instructor – MPH@Simmons

• Teach material from the approved curriculum in accordance with the syllabus and course design.
• Assume responsibility for the academic supervision and teaching of enrolled students.
• Attend all required Course Lead and MPH Faculty meetings.
• Provide full coverage for all scheduled synchronous/live sessions and lead synchronous discussions and didactic sessions.
• Maintain and evaluate student performance records within the LMS.
• Provide meaningful and timely feedback on asynchronous and required written assignments (within 7 days of due dates).
• Maintain all administrative/academic components of the course section.
• Maintain communication with the Course Lead regarding course and student‑related performance and issues.
• Respond to student questions in a clear manner within 24–48 hours.
• Foster an online culture of learning that values professionalism, accountability, empathy, lifelong learning, respect for diversity, and ethically‑minded practice.
• Prep for teaching, grading, and assessment as specified (9‑12 hrs per week).

• MPH or closely related degree required;
  DrPH or PhD in public health or related field preferred.
• Public health applied practice experience preferred.
• Commitment to health equity demonstrated through research, practice, or service.
• Graduate‑level teaching experience in public health, especially online, preferred.
• Experience in online teaching or exposure to online/hybrid models preferred.
• Proficiency with LMS and online teaching tools.

Adjunct faculty compensation at $5,278 per section, non‑benefits eligible. This rate is set per course and does not vary by experience or education. Additional information on compensation philosophy can be found here.
