Sir Bobby Robson School is looking for a KS2 Class Teacher
.
This is a rare opportunity to teach a Key Stage 2 class of pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs within a specialist setting that genuinely prioritises relationships, creativity and staff wellbeing.
At Sir Bobby Robson School, we combine strong structure and support with professional trust, creating an environment where both staff and pupils can thrive.
We know that great teachers are looking for roles that are both impactful and sustainable. This position offers a maximum class size of 8 pupils, supported by a full‑time Teaching Assistant, alongside a 0.8 contract to support work‑life balance. PPA time is taken flexibly every Thursday afternoon, with the option to work from home. All staff also benefit from a two‑week October half term.
You will be joining a highly supportive and experienced team, in a school that values innovation, creativity and professional autonomy. You will lead a small KS2 class where pupils present with SEMH needs, often alongside autism and ADHD. Many of our pupils have experienced disruption to their education. Your role will centre on building strong, trusting relationships that enable pupils to feel safe, regulated and ready to learn.
Alongside this, you will deliver engaging, personalised learning and support pupils’ emotional development as well as their academic progress. Teaching is supported by a well‑structured and carefully sequenced Key Stage 2 curriculum.
This provides clarity and consistency, reducing workload, while still allowing you the flexibility to adapt learning creatively to meet individual needs and interests. You will work closely with your Teaching Assistant and the wider team to ensure pupils experience a consistent and positive approach across the school.
Our pupils benefit from a calm, structured and predictable environment, where relationships are at the heart of everything we do. They need adults who are patient, consistent and genuinely committed to helping them succeed. In return, this is a role where you will see real, meaningful progress - often in ways that go far beyond the academic. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs, who values relationships as the foundation of learning and who brings creativity, flexibility and resilience to their practice.
Experience in SEMH or SEND is beneficial, but the right attitude, values and commitment are just as important as prior experience.
Sir Bobby Robson School is part of Unity Schools Partnership and has developed a strong and supportive culture since opening in 2020. We are an ambitious and evolving school, where staff are encouraged to contribute ideas and shape practice.
Professional development is a priority, and you will be supported by experienced leaders and colleagues. Unity Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS check will be required. If you are looking for a role where you can teach creatively, work with a skilled and supportive team and make a genuine difference every day - we would love to hear from you.
Unity Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils. All successful candidates will be subject to rigorous pre‑employment checks, including an enhanced DBS. We are also committed to equality, diversity and fair recruitment practices, and we oppose all forms of unlawful discrimination.
We value inclusive working practices and diverse teams. If you wish to work part‑time or as a job‑share, we will accommodate this wherever possible. We particularly welcome applications from under‑represented groups.
