Job Summary

The Division of Continuing Education (CE) at the University of Colorado, Boulder is seeking applications for a Recruitment and Admission Specialist – Online Programs. The role proactively provides information and support to prospective online students, building relationships with inquirers to help them navigate the university’s online undergraduate, graduate, certificate, and other programs. The position supports recruiting and admissions functions for the fully online Post Baccalaureate Computer Science Program and other online programs as required.

The role also develops and implements strategies to engage prospective online students/applicants, provides high‑caliber information, support, and guidance, and collaborates with campus offices to ensure a seamless experience. The ideal candidate should be familiar with online learning, nontraditional students, advising practices, recruitment and admission procedures, and financial aid and student billing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use knowledge of standard methodologies in andragogy, online education, recruiting, and student advising to develop and implement strategies for engaging prospective students.
  • Recommend, use, and support techniques and technologies that enable enrollment strategies, including CRM systems, drip campaigns, communication templates, and virtual open houses.
  • Identify and advocate for changes to policies and processes that improve the university’s online programs and their prospective and enrolled students.
  • Provide a full range of enrollment support for prospective online students, serving as a lead resource, guide, or advisor on student recruiting, admissions, and the student experience.
  • Engage prospective students proactively and personalized through email, phone, Zoom, webinars, content, and social channels.
  • Connect potential students to academic and student support resources, as needed.
  • Develop an in‑depth knowledge base of all online academic programs and convey this information using effective enrollment strategies.
  • Partner with CE staff and academic units to resolve prospect and applicant concerns and ensure successful matriculation.
  • Recruit, follow up, and facilitate admission from initial inquiry through enrollment.
  • Explain estimated cost of attendance, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities to students.
  • Build ongoing relationships with key constituents such as the CE Marketing Team, Student Services, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar’s Office, Bursar’s Office, and academic units offering online programs.
  • Identify prospective online students facing barriers to entry and facilitate timely interventions.
  • Advise prospective students on learning and technical skills necessary for online coursework.
  • Guide prospective students in selecting programs that align with their career and academic goals.
  • Connect applicants to training and resources that demonstrate career opportunities available for their degree selection.
  • Support new students through seamless transition into their programs in collaboration with program managers and advisors.
  • Facilitate virtual information sessions, including leading sessions and managing content shared with students.
  • Assist with application review, processing, and tracking admission application progress.
Professional Development and Unit Support
  • Attend CE and subunit meetings and engage in CE‑wide committees.
  • Seek out and attend professional development opportunities focused on supporting online students.
Work Conditions
  • The anticipated work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional irregular hours that may include nights and weekends.
  • The anticipated work modality is hybrid, with 2–3 days per week in the office.
  • Relocation assistance may be available per divisional guidelines.
What We Can Offer

The annual salary range for this position is $52,000–55,500.
