Dental Therapy Tutor

Overview

NHS Dumfries and Galloway are looking for two Dental Therapist Tutors based at the Dumfries Dental Centre. We have one full-time, 36 hpw, post and one part-time post, 28.8 hpw over 4 days a week. Candidates will be considered for both posts unless they clearly indicate a preference on their application.

The post holder should be a registrant with the GDC and have experience of, or be willing to undertake training in, education. The successful applicant will be part of a team of tutors delivering the University of Highlands and Islands, BSc Oral Health Science, in this innovative course which spans Dumfries, Inverness and Stornoway. Familiarity with IT systems will be helpful as teaching is undertaken across video conferencing systems and in the virtual learning environment.

This post will require the successful applicant to have/obtain PVG Clearance.

• Teach and support learners as part of the BSc Oral Health Science course in collaboration with other tutors.
• Engage with delivery across multiple sites and virtual platforms.

• GDC registrant
• Experience of, or willingness to undertake training in, education
• Willingness to contribute to the delivery of a multidisciplinary, multi-site course (Dumfries, Inverness, Stornoway)
• Familiarity with IT systems used for video conferencing and virtual learning environments
• PVG clearance (or willingness to obtain)
