Description
Adjunct Instructors are temporary, part-time faculty. Antelope Valley College invites applications for our applicant pool for Legal Assistant (Paralegal) discipline.
As an instructor in the growing Social and Behavioral Sciences division, you will become a member of a student‑oriented division whose primary focus is helping students attain their career goals.
Representative Duties- Instruct students in the assigned discipline
- Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, and/or off‑campus sites
- Any bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience, OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree.
- Academic Senate’s approved equivalency:
No equivalency per faculty division - A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (Title 5 §53024.1).
- Experience and willingness to teach online classes
- Experience and/or willingness to teach dual enrollment courses at a high‑school site
- Experience in the legal field
- Applicants may be subject to passing an examination (written/technical), as appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Residency within a reasonable geographical area of the college may be necessary.
