Part-Time School Librarian

The Part-Time School Librarian ard Majella Catholic School supports students and staff by maintaining a well‑organized, accessible, and engaging library environment. This role fosters a love of reading, assists with research and resource use, and ensures efficient management of library materials to support academic success and lifelong learning.

• Organize, catalog, and maintain library books and instructional materials
• Assist students and staff in locating resources and conducting research
• Manage book circulation, including check‑in/check‑out and tracking overdue items
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming library space
• Promote reading through displays, recommendations, and activities
• Support teachers by providing materials aligned with classroom instruction
• Assist with basic technology use, including computers and digital library tools
• Monitor student behavior to ensure a productive and respectful environment

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in library science or education preferred
• Experience working with children in a school or library setting preferred
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Basic computer and technology skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and staff
• Dependable, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently
• Passion for reading and supporting student learning
