Job Description Most ELA curriculum positions focus on creating lessons, prompts, and assessments. This role centers on using AI and student learning data to drive continuous improvement in how students master reading, writing, vocabulary, language, and evidence-based reasoning.
At 2 Hour Learning, students engage with an AI-powered learning model designed to accelerate their progress beyond traditional school timelines. Your contributions will be integrated directly into that system. You will identify where students encounter obstacles, redesign materials that created learning gaps, and refine assessments that verify authentic mastery.
The objective is not producing polished curriculum documents. The objective is delivering measurable growth on MAP, SAT, AP, and other ELA-relevant assessments.
This is applied academic design work. You will leverage LLMs, AI-assisted tools, no-code workflows, agentic AI tools, and evidence from student work to rebuild reading tasks, writing supports, vocabulary instruction, scaffolds, interventions, rubrics, prompts, and content quality checks. The results will appear in the data: students reading with greater depth, writing with improved clarity, and mastering language at accelerated rates.
If you are motivated to use AI to produce measurably better ELA learning outcomes, apply now.
What You Will Be Doing
* Identify recurring ELA learning gaps by analyzing student performance data, platform metrics, assessment outcomes, writing samples, reading responses, and student work.
* Leverage AI tools and agentic workflows to redesign reading tasks, writing supports, explanations, vocabulary instruction, grammar practice, scaffolds, and interventions.
* Refine ELA assessments by improving questions, writing prompts, distractors, rubrics, exemplars, answer explanations, and supporting content.
* Review AI-generated or AI-modified materials to ensure clarity, rigor, text alignment, grade-level appropriateness, learning effectiveness, and alignment with Alpha's learning science standards.
* Apply student evidence from MAP, SAT, AP, platform results, and internal assessments to determine which content should be updated, replaced, or rebuilt.
What You Won’t Be Doing
* Creating one-off worksheets, lesson plans, or test prep materials disconnected from student learning evidence.
* Managing a traditional classroom, grading stacks of essays manually, or overseeing school operations.
* Developing education software products. You will enhance the learning experience, not oversee a software roadmap.
* Limiting your work to diagnosis. You will be responsible for redesigning the curriculum, scaffolds, assessments, and interventions that address the gaps you identify.
* Conducting broad education strategy remotely. This work is hands-on, subject-specific, and evaluated by student mastery.
