Position Overview

Founded in 1979, The Chicago School is an independent professional graduate school that offers a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology. The program seeks qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach online courses in Clinical Anatomy and Integrated Science, Advanced Pathophysiology, Clinical Biochemistry and Neurochemistry, Pharmacology, Advanced Physical Assessment, and Diagnostic Methods.

Responsibilities
  • Enrich courses by sharing theoretical and practical knowledge of clinical psychopharmacology.
  • Encourage students to apply concepts directly to their workplace.
  • Be available online five days a week during the 7‑week term, including active participation in discussion forums, posting announcements, and holding virtual office hours.
  • Post a welcome message and a video welcome message to the Canvas course site.
  • Hold one voluntary synchronous chat or conference call each term via Skype or Go To Meeting .
  • Respond to each student’s initial post in the discussion forum.
  • Grade quizzes and provide feedback on short assignments within 48hours.
  • Grade larger assignments and provide feedback within three days of the due date.
  • Respond to all student emails within 24hours.
  • Issue final grades by Tuesday midnight after week7 ends.
  • Complete an 8‑week training course on online pedagogy best practices before teaching assignments.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Medical Studies, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related discipline.
  • Formal degree in Pharmacology or Clinical Psychopharmacology.
  • Professional license preferred (pharmacy, physician, or prescribing psychologist).
  • Board certification preferred.
  • Previous online teaching experience (3years preferred).
  • Exemplary professional experience.
  • Engagement in research and scholarship (preferred).
  • Ability and interest in contributing to a student‑centered community that values professional development, scholarship, ethics, diversity, innovation, flexibility, teamwork, and collaboration.
