Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and experienced in-person and hybrid set up School Psychologist to join our team on a contract basis. As a School Psychologist, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to fostering a healthy learning environment. You will work in a school setting, offering evaluation, consultation, intervention, and prevention services that support students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well‑being.
Responsibilities- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to determine students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Provide counseling and interventions to support students' emotional and mental health needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address students' academic and behavioral challenges.
- Offer consultation and training to school personnel on strategies to improve learning environments and student outcomes.
- Promote positive mental health through prevention programs, crisis intervention, and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct extensive psychological evaluations of students.
- Increase achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning.
- Evaluate eligibility for special education services (within a multidisciplinary team).
- Support effective individualized instruction.
- Collect data and provide systematic observations for students experiencing challenges in the school setting.
- Make referrals and participate in the coordination of community support services.
- Member of school support teams.
- Participate as a crisis team member and provide crisis intervention for students and staff in the event a situation is warranted.
- Stay current on new developments in the field of education.
- All other duties assigned.
Alaska Type C Special Services Certificate with School Psychology endorsement (or eligibility to obtain before start date)
Workplace SettingHybrid; virtual majority of the year with travel to the district 2‑4 times per year for 2‑3 weeks at a time.

Qualifications- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP‑approved/accredited program.
- Valid state license or state department of education certification (as needed) as a School Psychologist (if applicable).
- Educator Certificate (if applicable).
- Prefer experience working as a School Psychologist in a school setting.
- Prefer knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
- Strong skills in psychological testing, counseling, and intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Commitment to cultural competence and diversity.
- Passion for working with children and adolescents in educational settings.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs.
