Position Overview
Director of School Operations – Full‑time, year‑round, in‑person position. Starting at $99,291. Type:
School‑based. Locations:
Hiring at multiple sites across the Seattle‑Tacoma area (Tukwila, WA; South Seattle, WA; Tacoma, WA; Renton, WA).

Management and Leadership – Serve as a key member of the school’s leadership team working directly with the school principal and assistant principals, driving operational excellence and taking full ownership of school operations goals and metrics through data‑informed, outcomes‑based leadership. Lead and manage the school site operations and enrollment team, holding direct responsibility for the team's performance and results. Actively invest in the professional growth of direct reports through skills coaching and development, supporting them toward their individual career goals.
Embrace and confidently fulfill the role of a visible operational leader within the school building and the wider school community, representing Impact Public Schools effectively. Serve as the “acting principal” when the principal is away. Actively participate in essential school duties, including student supervision responsibilities, to ensure a safe, joyful, and smoothly operating learning environment.
School Operations – Own the effective implementation of core school operational systems across attendance, enrollment, meals, transportation, health and safety, facilities, field trips, technology, and compliance. Manage enrollment logistics to ensure every enrolled scholar is ready to start on the first day of school, tracking current enrollment numbers, partnering with school leaders to retain students and maintain enrollment at goal throughout the year, and coordinating with the Home Office outreach team while managing day‑to‑day enrollment tasks of school site operations staff.
Maintain a clean, neat, and highly functional campus by managing custodial personnel and third‑party contracts for trash removal, recycling, maintenance, and security, implementing school site testing procedures and completing data analysis as needed. Manage the school’s food and transportation services by ensuring delivery of service, coordinating with service providers, verifying and adjusting services as needed to ensure costs are within budget.
Support family and scholar needs related to meals, transportation, attendance, health, and enrollment. With the support of IPS’s Home Office, ensure the school meets all federal, state, and local compliance requirements and completes required reporting accurately and on time. Work with the School Principal and IPS Home Office to manage the school’s budget, and participate in monthly meetings to review and account for budget variances.

- Bachelor’s degree
- 7–10 years of professional experience
- 5+ years experience managing multiple projects, work streams, or initiatives
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding team or school goals
- 5+ years of demonstrated success working across multiple teams or stakeholders (both internal and external)
- 2+ years of people management experience
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain operational systems that others can follow and sustain
