Special Education ACCESS Program Teacher

Contingent upon final budget approval/funding

Medford High School

Teach and case manage a subseparate classroom of students requiring direct, appropriate individualized and small group instruction, based on IEP goals and objectives, within a highly supported setting. Curriculum is aligned to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks as the access/entry skill levels of complexity. Methodology includes strong multi‑disciplinary collaboration between instructional staff, related service providers and parents. Students participate in standards‑based instruction while addressing social, motor and communication skills.

Opportunities for facilitated inclusion components. The teacher participates in the supervision of paraprofessional staff, and service providers in a team oriented educational setting. There is a strong focus on transition and preparing students for post‑secondary success.

• Degree Preferred:
  Masters
• Massachusetts Severe Disabilities license preferred
• Experience Preferred: 3 years
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level (9-12) or discipline preferred.
• Experience with Alt MCAS a plus

Salary is in accordance with the Medford Teachers Association
