Overview
The University of South Dakota invites applications for an Interlibrary Loan Librarian (Civil Service Librarian level) based at the University Libraries’ I.D. Weeks Library in Vermillion, South Dakota. This position will oversee day‑to‑day operations of the interlibrary loan department and manage and process electronic course reserves. Duties also support circulation desk operations in Library and interlibrary loan operations at Wegner Health Sciences Library.
A hybrid schedule with some remote work may be possible.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the interlibrary loan department.
- Manage and process electronic course reserves.
- Support operations of the circulation desk in Library.
- Support interlibrary loan operations at Wegner Health Sciences Library.
- Experience with interlibrary loan processing and familiarity with copyright law as it applies to electronic course reserves in an academic library.
- Comfort working with computers and office software/technologies.
- Detail‑oriented, well organized, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues, staff, faculty, and students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to learn new tasks in a changing environment.
- Commitment to providing professional customer service.
- Ability to work independently or in groups and contribute meaningfully to group work.
Salary commensurate with experience; 12‑month term; 100% appointment; full‑time regular hours (8 am–5 pm).
