Overview
We are seeking a TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Navigator to provide holistic academic support and guidance to first‑generation, low‑income students and students with disabilities. The Navigator will help students clarify academic and life goals, create individualized plans, monitor progress, and connect them to college and community resources. This full‑time role reports to the Director of TRIO SSS in the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and is grant funded.
Pay range: $65,673 - $84,489 annually.
- Support students in identifying and cultivating educational and career goals through strengths‑based conversations and individualized coaching.
- Assist with recruitment, eligibility screening, and intake of new SSS participants.
- Manage a program caseload of TRIO participants and document services, student contacts, interventions, referrals, and outcomes.
- Develop and facilitate TRIO centered workshops and events.
- Conduct regular check‑ins and progress monitoring in coordination with the TRIO Director.
- Develop and support students holistically through implementation of individualized success plans.
- Identify academic, financial, and personal barriers and provide proactive interventions and referrals.
- Connect students with tutoring, disability accommodation services, financial aid, workforce education programs, academic advising, and basic needs support.
- Help students build college navigation skills (registration, financial aid processes, transfer steps, etc.).
- Utilize student information platforms to track academic progress and facilitate follow‑up.
- Provide information and referrals to college and community programs and services.
- Maintain strong partnerships with community agencies related to housing, employment, healthcare, food access, and other support services.
- Coordinate program‑sponsored college visits and academic enrichment activities.
- Maintain accurate student records in compliance with federal program guidelines.
- Contribute to data collection and reporting for the TRIO Annual Performance Report.
- Collaborate closely with campus departments and represent TRIO in student‑focused events and meetings.
- Recruit, train, and supervise TRIO student tutors.
- Perform other related projects and assignments as assigned.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a commitment to an inclusive environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- One year of experience with TRIO or a similar federal, state, or institutionally funded student success program.
- Knowledge of TRIO regulations and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of systemic issues impacting under‑represented students and students with disabilities.
- Experience supervising student staff and managing program budgets.
- Familiarity with student case management and tracking systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, think critically, and exercise independent judgment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and remote learning platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in program evaluation, data collection, and federal reporting systems.
- Experience in grant management, program compliance, evaluation, and outcomes reporting.
- Commitment to universal design and accessibility.
- Ability to represent the college professionally with tact, discretion, and courtesy.
- Preferred:
Ability to speak a regionally common language other than English (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Somali, or Chinese).
Business hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work. Mostly sedentary office environment with frequent computer use. Office location on campus; occasional travel for trainings, conferences, or community events. Remote work possible if business permits.
