Position: PK4 Bilingual Teacher (2026-2027)

Position Overview

Elementary School Teacher / Early Childhood (PK/K) – Bilingual. Reports to Campus Principal. Open until filled. Length of work year: 187 days. Salary range: $57,300 – $80,668. Pay grade: TCH. Wage/hour status:
Exempt.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Instructional Strategies
    • Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through distance, virtual, or face‑to‑face learning to fulfill district curriculum requirements.
    • Prepare lessons that accommodate differences in student learning styles and needs.
    • Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
    • Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and equipment that reflect students’ learning styles and needs.
    • Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
    • Work cooperatively with special‑education teachers to modify curricula for students with IEPs.
    • Collaborate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods per district requirements.
    • Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).
    • Use technology to strengthen teaching/learning and provide blended‑learning opportunities.
  • Student Growth and Development
    • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
    • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
    • Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor approved outside activities.
    • Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school district.
  • Classroom Management and Organization
    • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for students’ physical, social, and emotional development.
    • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
    • Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
    • Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  • Communication
    • Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing during scheduled conference periods or office hours.
    • Communicate daily with students or parents via Google Classroom, Google Meet, Microsoft Office 365 Email, or other platforms and maintain a contact log.
    • Conduct parent, student, principal, and teacher conferences to establish open communication.
    • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
    • Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
    • Provide ongoing feedback on student achievement through formal and informal methods per district grading procedures.
  • Professional Growth and Development
    • Participate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills.
  • Other Duties
    • Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
    • Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents.
    • Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
    • Perform all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to self or others.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities – Supervise assigned teacher aide(s).
  • Working Conditions
    • Work prolonged or irregular hours, prolonged sitting, repetitive computer work, frequent use of hands and wrists.
    • Work from home or other location unless asked to go to the site.
    • Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Certification:
    Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level.
  • Special Knowledge/

    Skills:

    Knowledge of assigned subjects; general knowledge of curriculum and instruction; ability to instruct and manage student behavior; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
