JOB DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Admissions Representative for Online Programs is responsible for recruiting prospective online graduate students and guiding them through the admissions and registration process. This role serves as the primary point of contact for students, providing support and communication from initial inquiry through the start of classes.
FULL TIME RESPONSIBILITIES- Communicates promptly with prospective graduate students through extensive phone and email outreach. Builds relationships with prospects and guides them as they explore ORU’s online graduate programs. Evaluates interest levels across various lead sources to identify high-intent, high-yield candidates.
- Meets daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals as assigned by a supervisor.
- Provides consultative guidance to prospective students regarding graduate programs, admissions requirements, and program expectations. Delivers accurate information and supports students through the financial aid application process.
- Manages a designated pool of applicants, including communicating admissions decisions, sharing relevant updates, and guiding them through each stage of the admissions process.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for admitted graduate students through the start of classes. Assists with completion of enrollment and registration steps and ensures a smooth transition by connecting students with their Online Student Success Coach and Student Services Director for ongoing support.
- Responds to and initiates communication with prospective students through various channels, including email, phone, and written correspondence. Provides timely and accurate information while resolving issues related to admissions, including complex or special circumstances that may impact acceptance.
- Plays a critical role in driving applicant conversion from inquiry to enrollment. Motivates students to complete their admissions files, identifies barriers to progression, and works proactively to resolve them. Handles sensitive or unique situations requiring additional follow‑up (e.g., prior academic or legal concerns).
- Represents the University's online graduate programs at events and recruitment activities as requested.
- Performs additional recruitment and enrollment‑related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required;
Masters preferred. - Two (2) years of related work experience in consultative sales, marketing, customer service or related field required.
- Must be computer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
- Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to articulate information well, both verbally and in written form.
- Must have an eye for detail due to the need for accurate record‑keeping/recording of personal, monetary, and time‑sensitive related information.
- Must be self‑motivated, driven to meet goals, possess a strong work ethic, and be able to prioritize.
- Must have the ability to exercise discretionary judgement.
- Excellent problem‑solving, leadership, and time‑management skills are required.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times regarding both student records and internally sensitive information.
- Must have the ability to work both as a team member and independently; use sound judgement regarding organizational and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies; quickly establish and maintain rapport with students, faculty, alumni, administration, and individuals from varying cultural backgrounds.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks amid a fast‑paced, high‑demand work environment while always maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Must remain flexible with regard to external factors that may affect the work schedule.
- Must have the ability to effectively deal with persons from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
- Maintains compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
