Job Summary
Child-Parent Centers (CPC) seeks professionals who share our values and principles for building trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities- Implement the home-based option through weekly home visits (1½ hours each) and bi‑weekly two‑hour group socializations.
- Plan, document, and evaluate activities with parents.
- Engage families as full partners in their children’s development and learning by helping them set realistic short‑ and long‑term goals and supporting goal attainment.
- Strengthen parent‑child relationships and support families in addressing challenges such as mental illness, substance abuse, disabilities, and family violence.
- Individualize approaches to families based on family development issues and unique needs.
- Help children develop emerging skills and practice existing ones by providing families with current information about child learning.
- Promote fine and gross‑motor skills, curiosity, reasoning, problem‑solving, independence, oral language, reading, writing, numeracy, and science concepts through everyday home and community experiences.
- Support families in creating safe, healthy, and nurturing home environments, bridging them to community resources and services.
- Maintain professional communication and coordination with specialists and community partners.
- Track families’ progress, maintain accurate child and family records in digitized systems (Smart Teach, Child Plus), and meet federal, state, and program documentation requirements.
- Prepare and submit reports on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as required.
- Recruit and retain eligible Head Start families to maintain funded enrollment.
- Participate in center staff meetings, contribute to program policy and procedure improvements, and assist in training family educators as assigned.
- Help families access and follow up on treatment, support, and intervention programs, including scheduling appointments and monitoring outcomes.
- Maintain attendance and uphold agency policies for safeguarding child safety and confidentiality.
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Family Studies, Social Work, Social Services, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, Marriage and Family Therapy, Early Childhood Special Education, Education, or an equivalent field.
- Or possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and enroll in coursework to obtain an associate degree.
- Minimum two (2) years documented work experience with adult development and infants/toddlers.
- Proficiency using Office
365 (Outlook, Teams, One Drive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Must be 18years old with a valid Arizona driver’s license and excellent driving record.
- Must read, write, and speak English and Spanish (bilingual).
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Family Studies, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, Marriage and Family Therapy, Early Childhood Special Education, or Education.
- Three (3) years’ work or volunteer experience in instructing or enhancing growth in adults from diverse ethnic and socio‑economic backgrounds.
