Newcomer Funeral Service Group is committed to excellence in funeral service education. We annually award up to $30,000 in scholarships to mortuary science students who demonstrate the core values of Excellence, Trust, Care, and Growth.

• All students enrolled in or pursuing a degree in mortuary science
• Undergraduate study only
• Institution must be accredited with the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE)

Scholarship amounts vary from $1,000 to $5,000, are awarded annually, and will be paid directly to the recipient’s institution.

• Resume/CV detailing history, education, and community involvement
• 500‑word essay explaining why you chose the mortuary science profession and providing an example that demonstrates one of the Newcomer Core Values:
  Excellence, Trust, Care, or Growth
• One professional letter of reference (faculty member, former manager, senior leader, mentor, or coach)
• Transcript from your current educational institution
