Fine Arts Teacher, Remote - Washington

About the Role

Are you a Washington‑certified teacher, with a Fine Arts endorsement, interested in an engaging, flexible, work‑from‑home opportunity? Open Ed, a student‑centered, online personalized education program, is accepting applications for part‑time teachers to support students and families through personalized learning.

Washington Open Ed Teachers focus on deep, individualized student support, helping students set and work toward personal learning goals while closely monitoring their progress throughout the year. You’ll prepare monthly progress reports for families, review and grade student learning logs, and track participation in designated subject areas.

• Student Support, Instruction & Collaboration
  • Review and grade student learning logs, providing timely, actionable feedback to support student progress.
  • Provide weekly accountability and encouragement for students.
  • Prepare and share monthly progress reports to communicate student progress.
  • Work synchronously with students in 1:1, small‑group, or large‑group settings.
  • Mentor and tutor students enrolled in assigned courses.
  • Create engaging lessons, activities, or learning opportunities.
  • Tailor resources and support to meet individual student needs.
  • Identify at‑risk students and coordinate appropriate routes to intervention.
  • Communicate with parents to provide guidance and support.
  • Attend IEP meetings as needed and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to share expertise and support students across the program.
  • Complete additional grading and instructional responsibilities, as applicable.
• Program & Team Contribution
  • Support a core group of assigned students through ongoing mentorship and learning‑log responsibilities, while also contributing to additional assignments across the program based on team and student needs.
  • Participate in a positive, collaborative, team‑oriented environment focused on student success.

• Current teaching certification in Washington, with a Fine Arts endorsement
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding that every child is unique and benefits from individualized learning
• Kind, organized, patient, and a dependable communicator
• Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
• Confidence in the ability to learn various online tools, systems, and programs
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Access to a smartphone, high‑speed internet, computer, and webcam
• Eligible to work in the U.S. (but can live/work from any pre‑approved location)

• Experience in non‑traditional educational programs
• Residency in Washington preferred, but is not required

• Ability to maintain a regular schedule of 25‑27 hours per week
• Availability during core business hours (10:00 a.m.
  
  - 3:00 p.m. MT)
• Synchronous responsibilities may include meetings with students, families, or groups, and will vary based on assigned roles

• Hourly pay starts at $25/hour
