The part-time Director of Admission and Enrollment is a senior level partner to the Executive Director in recruiting, engaging, and enrolling new families to the nursery school (serving ages 2-6). This position requires a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills, comfort with technology, including database management, and facility with communications, marketing, and event planning. Prior knowledge of independent school admissions, early childhood development, and Boston parent networks is highly desired.
This position is 20-25 hours a week (minimum of 3 mornings a week on‑site during the school year and several night and weekend events required; remote work time and summer flexibility possible). This position is eligible for benefits.
- Oversees all aspects of admission and enrollment information management (database management, appointment scheduling, admission and enrollment communication, lists, and reports, enrollment and re‑enrollment timelines and protocols, registration systems for auxiliary programs, etc.).
- Supports the Executive Director, who conducts all parent interviews and is centrally engaged with prospective families, in maintaining a high-quality admissions process; gives admission tours and coordinates admission volunteers.
- Organizes admission open houses and other events to promote the school with prospective and/or newly accepted families; facilitates BHNS participation in admission fairs.
- Partners with ED on admissions decisions, long-term enrollment planning, analysis of admission, enrollment, and attrition data, and preparation of board materials and presentations.
- Collaborates closely with the Communications Director on external communications including print and digital marketing materials, website, and social media presence.
- Coordinates with the Director of Finance and Operations on student contracting, financial aid, and enrollment reporting.
- Reports to the Executive Director and is a key member of the administrative team who attends all board meetings.
- Attends all Admission Open Houses, Admission Fairs, and Prospective or Newly Accepted Family Events, and Board Meetings.
- Participates in Faculty/Staff Meetings and Professional Development Days as requested.
Familiarity with independent schools and early childhood settings strongly desired; admission office experience preferred.
Database management and event planning skill sets needed.
Bachelor's degree required;
Master's preferred.
