Position Overview
Elementary Teacher for Missouri Digital Academy (MODA) in a K‑12 powered online environment. Responsible for instruction, support, and guidance to K‑5 students across subjects such as English, math, science, history, music, art, and world languages. Builds relationships with families, students, and learning coaches to ensure successful student progress.
Must hold a bachelor’s degree and a Missouri elementary teaching certification (or equivalent state certification with ability to obtain MO license within 60 days). Remote position strongly prefers candidates residing in Missouri; surrounding states may be considered. Travel required approximately 20% of the time for testing and professional development.
Responsibilities- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
- Personalize learning for all students.
- Show belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiates instruction based on student mastery level.
- Augment course content per policies using appropriate tools under guidance.
- Maintain grade book ensuring academic integrity; make placement/promotion decisions; alert administrators of performance concerns.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with students, learning coaches, and parents.
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues, and troubleshoot in the virtual classroom.
- Travel, approximately once per month or 20% of the time, for professional development and testing.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree, active Missouri state teaching license, and cleared background check. - Desired:
Experience with the K‑5 age group. - Experience supporting adults and children in technology use.
- Experience teaching online and/or in brick‑and‑mortar settings.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
- Collaborative skill to analyze student data and inform instruction.
- Openness to coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Adaptability to change and commitment to student outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
- Rapid learning of new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Ability to maintain teacher certification and professional development.
Salary range $48,752–$60,940; eligible for bonus. Comprehensive benefits include health, retirement contributions, and paid time off. Compensation considers education, experience, location, travel, and market conditions.
