Position: Adjunct Faculty, Applied Behavior Analysis Program CSOE (Remote Position)

Position Summary

The Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an 18-month program designed for working adults. The ABA Program mission is to prepare students to be professionally competent, compassionate, ethical practitioners of applied behavior analysis who work with individuals diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Adjunct Faculty are scholars and professionals, who teach in their area(s) of specialization and expertise.

The primary affiliation of adjunct faculty is not with the university.

Behavioral Skill Assessments & Evidence-Based Instruction

Description:

This course introduces common behavior analytic skill assessments and instructional strategies for individuals with disabilities. Students will learn how to assess individuals' areas of strength and needs, and deliver evidence-based instructional strategies based on assessment results and other considerations. Students will gain competence in applying evidence-based instructional strategies to the development of communication, adaptive, academic, leisure, social, and vocational skills.

Functional Behavior Assessments & Interventions for Safety-Related Behaviors

Description:

This course provides information about functional behavior assessment and intervention strategies to reduce behaviors related to safety (e.g., aggression, self-harm, elopement) and increase positive behavioral repertoires. Students will gain competence in selecting, applying, and recommending interventions that are functionally equivalent to behaviors of concern across multiple settings.

Starting Pay

$39 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications Education

Doctoral or Master degree in Psychology, Special Education, ABA, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience

Appropriate experience in the areas(s) of specialization and expertise. At least three (3) years of experience as a School Psychologist. Educational Psychologist through the BBS (LEP), is preferred.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with students and Alliant employees, as well as the Registrar's Office and various academic departments.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal interactions, and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Collaboration and partnering with other university stakeholders to support candidate success.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design graduate‑level ABA courses that align with program learning outcomes and the BACB 6th Edition Test Outline Content.
  • Develop syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments that reflect adult learning principles and best online teaching practices.
  • Create asynchronous learning content.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, university instructional designers, and other faculty to ensure high quality, consistent course content.
  • Ensure all course content upholds professional and ethical requirements of the behavior analytic community.

Contact Responsibility

Internal:
Interacts with Program Director to receive support and guidance throughout the instructional term. Main communication is between Adjunct Faculty and currently enrolled candidates.
