Ski & Snowboard Instructor

$16.5 per hour starting. Wage determined by experience & certifications. Private lessons – $40–50 per hour.

Summit season pass (Berkshire East, Bousquet & Catamount), food and merchandise discounts, friends and family discounts, $25 employee INDY Pass upgrade available.

Teach skiing and/or snowboarding to groups or individuals of all ages and abilities in a low‑risk and fun learning environment through excellent class management, people skills, teaching skills, technical skills with proper demonstrations and creativity.

• Teach proper technique appropriate to the ability level of each student.
• Instruct group and private lessons of varying ability and age levels.
• Maintain personal gear in a safe, functional, and attractive condition.
• Follow the Responsibility Code and reduce risk for guests on varied terrain in winter weather.
• Supervise children at all times in class.
• Connect and communicate with parents and/or chaperones.
• Assist students in the loading and unloading of chair lifts & carpet lifts.
• Continually learn and update teaching, technical, and skiing/snowboarding skills based on PSIA/AASI standards.

• Intermediate to advanced skiing/snowboarding ability required.
• Effective teaching skills working with children and adults.
• Act as a role model; motivating and positively influencing students.
• Must be adaptable and willing to learn and improve personal skills.
• Display mature judgment skills and decision making.
• PSIA/AASI certification or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required.
• Basic proficiency with email and internet websites.

• Frequent evening shifts for school programs and family nights.
• Frequent weekend and holiday shifts.

• Applicants must be at least age 16.

• Cori / Pro Screen background check required prior to being hired.
• New hires must complete the Instructor Training Course (ITC), which includes at-home work as well as on‑snow assessments.

Attendance of ski or snowboard clinics required for all instructors.
