HIPPY Homebased Educator

Position Summary

The Cabot School District is seeking a motivated and family-focused individual to serve as a HIPPY Home-Based Educator (HBE). HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) supports parents as their child's first teacher through home-based early childhood education and family engagement. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with families, building relationships, and helping children prepare for kindergarten success.

• Conduct weekly home visits with participating families, providing instruction, encouragement, guidance, and support to parents.
• Recruit, enroll, and retain eligible families in the HIPPY program.
• Maintain required documentation and program data in COPA and other designated systems.
• Participate in group meetings, parent engagement activities, developmental screenings, evaluations, weekly staff meetings, and other program events.
• Represent the HIPPY program and Cabot School District in a professional manner while communicating family needs and concerns to the HIPPY Field Coordinator.
• Complete required training, professional development, and other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of all required background checks
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Basic computer and technology proficiency, including the ability to learn required data systems
• Ability to build positive relationships with families from diverse backgrounds while encouraging and supporting parents as their child's first teacher
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and dependability
• Experience working with children and families preferred

Reports directly to the HIPPY Field Coordinator
