Position Summary

Compensation: $3,657.33 monthly ($43,887.96 annually) for a 12‑month, full‑time, exempt appointment.
Benefits eligible. Valid driver’s license and criminal background check required. Must live in campus housing and be available for on‑call duty. Remote work: on‑campus. Standard work hours M‑F 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with evening, weekend, and on‑call responsibilities. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Supervise 5–15 student staff members, conduct regular meetings, and provide formal and informal evaluations.
- Assist with hiring, interviewing, and selecting prospective student staff.
- Address concerns, resolve problems, and provide timely feedback.
- Coordinate facility needs, renovation plans, and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, security, and damage‑control policies.
- Assist with opening and closing of residence halls and hall‑duty coverage.
- Plan and coordinate duty schedules for hall staff and front‑desk staff.
- Participate in the weekly on‑call rotation throughout the year.
- Manage on‑call responsibilities, including emergency phone and incident response.
- Build and maintain interpersonal relationships with residents, guests, and staff.
- Develop, plan, and lead community programs and learning opportunities.
- Encourage student participation in challenges and leadership development.
- Enforce housing policies, procedures, and the University Housing & Dining Contract.
- Conduct crisis interventions, follow‑ups, and appropriate referrals.
- Adjudicate student conduct in a timely manner following procedures and protocols.
- Facilitate accurate paperwork such as room inventory, occupancy reports, and room‑change records.
- Assist with budgeting, planning, and reporting for student groups.
- Maintain office hours and respond to resident and conference attendee inquiries.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
- Two years of undergraduate experience in Housing/Residential Life or Student Life/Involvement.
- Live‑in position with evening, weekend, and on‑call duties.
- Willing and able to reside in campus‑provided housing.
- Master’s degree in social sciences or higher education administration.
- Progressive experience in Housing/Residential Life.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service experience with diplomacy and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and research skills; ability to interpret complex policies.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to frequent changes.
- Initiative, organization, and time‑management for handling multiple assignments.
- Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
- Ability to provide training and direction to student assistants.
- Normal office activities: sitting, standing, using a computer, answering phones.
- Move or transport up to 50 lbs.
- Travel across campus and occasional off‑site travel.
- Perform driving‑related duties.
- Required live‑in position with evening, weekend, and emergency on‑call responsibilities.
- Travel for training or professional development as needed.
- Additional hours may be requested; on‑call duty may require return on short notice.
- Must pass pre‑employment background check.
- Position exempt from overtime under the FLSA.
- Mandatory reporter under Oregon Revised Statutes and required to comply with state mandates.
