Hiring Salary Range: $20.61 - $26.80 hourly, DOE

Grade: 111

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year; 7:00am - 6:00pm during the Summer Months. Remote work is allowed as needed.

Work Calendar: 12 Months

Funding Information: This is a grant funded assignment with a projected end date of 09/30/2026. Renewal is contingent on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.

Job Summary

The Student Services Specialist for the Semiconductor Pathways in Arizona's Technical Education (SP-ATE) grant will coordinate and support student success. Responsibilities include advising students, managing onboarding, tracking progress toward credentials and job placement, and coordinating with Career Technical Education partners, universities, and industry. The role also supports grant reporting, outreach, recruitment, tracking systems, and event coordination.

Essential Functions
  • Advises students participating in semiconductor technician programs, including veterans, adult learners, and recent high school graduates.
  • Supports recruitment and outreach activities, including events and presentations at schools and community organizations. Facilitates and coordinates logistics for events, site visits, and workshops.
  • Collaborates with faculty, CTE partners, university representatives, and industry liaisons to align student services with project objectives.
  • Coordinates onboarding processes and tracks student progress toward certificates and job placement.
  • Serves as a liaison between students and college support services, including referrals for financial, academic, and career resources.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records for student interactions and progress in compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  • Contributes to the collection of data for grant evaluation and reporting purposes. Performs other duties as assigned to support the SP-ATE project.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.
  • OR an equivalent combination of the degree and directly related full‑time work experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job, unless otherwise required by law or regulation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience or knowledge in semiconductor industry, technician programs, or advanced manufacturing education.
  • Experience advising diverse student populations, including veterans, adult learners, and recent high school graduates, in technical or STEM programs.
  • Experience coordinating student onboarding, tracking progress, and managing job placement activities using data management systems.
  • Experience maintaining records and contributing to grant reporting requirements, including data collection and compliance documentation.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, K‑12 partners, university representatives, and industry partners to achieve educational objectives.
  • Experience planning and executing recruitment events, outreach presentations, workshops, and site visits for technical education programs.
  • Knowledge of CTE pathways, articulation agreements, dual enrollment programs, and workforce development initiatives.
Special Working Conditions

May be required to work at multiple sites or locations and may be required to work evenings and weekends. This is a short‑term position with a projected end date of September 2028, with renewal contingent on funding.

A valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; the employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving.
