Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Online Student Success Advisor on the Dahlonega campus. The Online Student Success Advisor serves students by providing information about online learning opportunities and resources. Provides assistance in the development and delivery of exceptional student services by engaging and providing proactive advising/success coaching. Assists in the implementation of various student support initiatives designed to serve online students for successful completion of online courses and degree programs.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as an eCampus Liaison, Academic Advisor, and Academic Success Coach to online students.
  • Regularly monitors student participation and enrollment behavior; communicates with non‑participating students to offer support and encourage enrollment. Monitors and tracks at‑risk and probationary students to ensure student success.
  • Supports faculty with student matters related to online program issues, student participation and engagement, and other areas, as appropriate. Assists with the online early alert system.
  • Contacts new students to establish and maintain communication and support. Communicates relevant opportunities and news, important deadlines, available resources and services to other departments, faculty, staff, students and parents.
  • Inform and coordinate with technical and course support staff to monitor patterns in requests for assistance and identify opportunities to improve student experience. Provides D2L assistance to students.
  • Assists students with course registration (adds, drops, and withdrawals). Assists students with troubleshooting registration issues (pre‑reqs, holds, status, etc.).
  • Provides information regarding online courses, programs and available services to students, administrators, staff, instructors, program directors, and advisors to promote online enrollment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2 years of academic counseling, advising, or student success support experience is required.
  • Experience working in an academic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a course management system such as D2L preferred.
