Are you driven by a passion for advancing knowledge and shaping the next generation of sport professionals? Join us at the University of Brighton as a Lecturer in Exercise, Health and Rehabilitation / Sport & Exercise Science and become part of a vibrant, forward-thinking academic community on our newly developed Falmer campus.

This is more than just a teaching role—it’s a chance to make a real impact. You’ll contribute to a research environment that values innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in both education and student experience.

Located in one of the UK’s most dynamic and diverse coastal cities, the University of Brighton is renowned for its real-world impact and commitment to social progress. Our internationally recognised sport programmes are supported by cutting-edge facilities, including new state-of-the-art laboratories, and benefit from strong partnerships with industry leaders, NHS and community organisations.

We’re looking for a motivated and knowledgeable individual with expertise in Exercise, Health and Rehabilitation / Sport and Exercise Science who can inspire students through engaging, current, high-quality teaching. Whether your background is in academia or professional practice, we value your experience and will support you in developing your own research or applied interests within a collaborative and supportive environment. We are looking for applications from individuals who can contribute across our Sport & Exercise Science disciplines with expertise in exercise rehabilitation, prehabilitation or clinical exercise physiology.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • A relevant degree, master’s or equivalent professional experience in Sport & Exercise Science, Sport Therapy or related field.
  • Professional experience of working in areas relevant to exercise rehabilitation, prehabilitation or clinical exercise physiology.
  • Up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in exercise and health.
  • Understanding of academic and award standards and the range and level of knowledge and skills, both subject–specific and generic, which the programme is intended to foster.
  • Experience of implementing creative approaches to developing teaching and learning.
  • Competent in relevant learning technologies for effective use in teaching, learning and assessment.

A relevant PhD in Sport & Exercise Science, or related field, and an active research portfolio and publication record are desirable, but by no means essential.

If you’re ready to help shape the future of sport education and empower the next generation of sport leaders, we want to hear from you.
