Position SummaryThe Department of Campus Recreation is seeking qualified Penn State students to serve as Tennis Instructors, offering both individual and group tennis instruction. Instructors are expected to conduct classes in an engaging, safe and effective manner, providing an encouraging and motivating atmosphere while helping participants achieve their objectives.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and group tennis instruction to participants of all skill levels.
- Create an encouraging and motivating environment to help participants meet their goals.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, decision‑making, and communication skills.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
- Maintain a safe instructional environment.
- Prior tennis experience.
- Ideal candidates play above a UTR level 4 and have varsity high school experience.
- Private Lesson instructors should have experience playing tennis at a competitive level with a USTA ranking or recognized rating (current or prior) and be able to work with diverse age groups.
- Ability to display excellent customer service, decision‑making, and communication skills.
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check.
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form.
- FBI Criminal Background Check.
