Job Description
The Financial Aid Advisor provides outstanding customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and the public through in‑person, phone, and email advising. The role is responsible for program management in assigned areas such as Satisfactory Academic Progress, Professional Judgments, Outreach and Communication, and Education Abroad. The advisor determines eligibility for financial aid, resolves student eligibility issues, processes award recommendations, reviews and processes Professional Judgment appeals, and leads or participates in outreach events.
The position requires the capability to work from home, with occasional evening and weekend work, and includes blackout vacation days during peak processing periods.

- Associate degree or equivalent experience in a student or customer‑facing role.
- Demonstrated proficiency providing high‑level customer service on phone, in person, and via email and virtual appointments.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with standard office software.
- Sound judgment in making difficult decisions.
- Experience working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience working in a college or university financial aid office.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Experience with website and social media management.
