Program Coordinator

The primary role of a full-time Program Coordinator (12 month) is to focus on academic excellence and student success, and encourage lifelong learning by working collaboratively with college stakeholders to support the mission of the college while coordinating all related administrative functions of an AAS Degree Program. Full-time Program Coordinators ensure the quality and integrity of the college's academic programs through teaching, curriculum development, and college service.

This position is located at the Tech Center in Martinsburg, WV, but may report to all locations as needed. This is a hybrid position with in-office and remote work requirements. Relocation is not offered.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Vice President and Dean with projects related to assessment and other areas of academic affairs.
  • Assist the Vice President and Dean in the development of reporting of grants, including; program reviews, grant monitoring reports, and post audit reviews.
  • Assist the Vice President and Dean in the development and reporting of new initiatives in the technology programs.
  • Coordinate all curricular activities for the AI & Data Management Degree Program (e.g. assessment, program changes, curriculum development, course schedule, adjunct faculty selection, qualified faculty rubric evaluation for all adjunct faculty in the program, textbook orders, Blackboard).
  • Create courses, certificates, skill sets, advanced skill sets, and degrees for the AI & Data Management degree program.
  • Teaching a minimum load of 12-credit hours a semester / 24-credits annually.
  • Maintain a minimum of 10 office hours weekly dedicated to students.
  • Advise students about academic standards, policies and programs available to facilitate their success, which includes participation in both live and virtual new student orientations.
  • Provide academic advisement to students in their declared major, through one-on-one mentoring, workshops, and/or presentations.
  • Coordinate the advisory board for the AI & Data Management Degree Program.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and the community in accordance with the core values of Blue Ridge Community & Technical College.
  • Represent the School of Workforce and Engineering Technologies and the Division of Technology on committees, as assigned.
  • Actively recruit potential students for the AI & Data Management Degree Program to increase enrollment.
  • Actively pursue outreach opportunities to share AI & Data Management
  • Remain current in the field through maintaining/seeking certifications, professional development, and conference attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in AI, Computer Science, Data Science or a related technology field
  • Master's degree preferred

Experience

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Proficiency in AI and Data Management knowledge.
  • Experience with Banner, Black Board, Black Board Analytics, Degree Works, or other similar Higher Education software preferred.
  • Program Management knowledge and experience is preferred.
